Director of Information Technology

Darrell Brightmon joined the Optimal leadership team in 2023 as the Director of Information Technology. The scope of his responsibilities includes managing the transformation of data into actionable insight, meeting customer service critical KPI objectives, and ensuring the security and resilience of our business, while safeguarding the organizations’ IT infrastructure.

As an IT professional, Darrell utilizes his experience in data engineering, building teams and processes around Data Analytics, Enterprise, and Cyber Security. He leads the Optimal Information Technology department in the daily troubleshooting of data issues, developing business processes around organizations software and hardware needs as well as delivering “real time” solutions in an ever-changing digital environment.

Prior to joining Optimal, Darrell spent 13 years as Director of Business Intelligence for National Oilwell Varco (NOV) and 3 years with a startup company as Director of Data Analytics. He earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Houston, a master’s degree in engineering science from Prairie View A&M, and a master’s degree in business administration (MBA) from the University of Houston as well as a certification in AIML. He resides in Rosharon, Texas, with his family where he enjoys playing golf and chess.
